Kids usually don't care about getting greeting cards. Based on my experience, I never really liked getting cards when I was a kid, I would usually be happier getting toys or cash, I'm such a material girl.
When we sent the toys, clothes and enclosed greeting card, I got some nice feedback from the mom and grandmom. Per Chris, the "grandmom", 'Card was cute'. Certainly, that made my day. :)
